Salon Owner, Suzanne Szabo
Suzanne Szabo grew up in the hair business - she learned about persistence and determination from her mother and father, now in their 70s and still running the family salon in Pittsburgh, PA. She spent her childhood hanging out in this salon; it was an expansive and mercurial space where she was exposed to the panorama of human emotions. It cultivated in her a sense of curiosity and it taught her how to be real.
After studying business at university, Suzanne decided it was a no-brainer to learn the family trade. She enrolled in beauty school and simultaneously worked in the family's salon where she ran the front desk and distribution, organized educational events and learned to cut and color hair. She feels privileged to have learned from many of the masters in the industry and loves that her vocation is a craft she executes with her own two hands.
Suzanne loves making people feel good - as a stylist in the salon she does this by making them look good, as a human out in the world she's certain, small acts of kindness can change someone’s reality for the better. Suzanne is also a yoga instructor with a conviction that beauty is a combination of mind, body and spirit.
